NEWS Argotec Releases New Thin
GREENFIELD , MASSACHUSETTS — Argotec, Inc. of Greenfield , Massachusetts , announces the release of a new application bulletin. It is intended for individuals who specify thin aliphatic films for critical applications, such as textile laminations, touch screen monitors, protection of painted and unpainted metal surfaces, as well as for optical interlayers in impact-resistant security glazing. Argotec produces these films using flat-die extrusion technology in thicknesses ranging from 2 to 10 mils and thicker, widths from 40 to 74 inches, and with a variety of surface finishes and roll configurations that are unattainable from blown film extrusion. The bulletin describes the differences between the three types of aliphatic TPU film: polyether-based, polyester-based and polycaprolactone polyurethane. It also describes the difference between hard and soft grades of aliphatic polyurethane, as well as the superiority of flat-die extruded aliphatic TPU films over blown film. Additionally, the bulletin explains when and which types of carriers and interleafs are available.
